Follebu
Follebu is a township and parish of Gausdal in Innlandet, Norway. Follebu parish is located in the Sør-Gudbrandsdal rural deanery.[1] Follebu Church (Follebu kirke) was built in Gothic style of stone and brick between the years 1260 and 1300.[2][3]
The name
The Old Norse form of the name was Foldabu. The first element is probably the genitive pluralis of fold 'meadow, plain; open and flat land' - the last element is bú 'rural district'. The area is quite flat and open, especially when it is compared to the surrounding districts.
