Floating launch platform
A floating launch platform is a mobile maritime launch or recovery platform for space launch vehicles.
There are currently three such platform types:
- Odyssey used by Sea Launch for equatorial Pacific Ocean launches of the Zenit-3 rocket;
- Autonomous spaceport drone ships used by SpaceX to recover and reuse first-stage boosters of its Falcon rocket family;
- Blue Origin landing platform ship for the forthcoming recovery of New Glenn first stages by Blue Origin.
