Earlier dual traction WCAM 1 or WCAM 2/2P locos haul the train from Mumbai Central until Vadodara Junction after which a Vadodara or Ghaziabad based WAP 4 would take over until New Delhi after which a WDM 3A from the Tuglakabad shed took over until Firozpur Cantonment.

Since the changeover of Western Railways to AC traction in February 2012, it now gets a Ghaziabad based WAP 5 until New Delhi after which a WDM 3A from the Tughlakabad or Ludhiana shed takes over until Firozpur Cantonment.
