Career

You earned his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, and completed his undergraduate studies at Tsinghua University.[5][6][7] After working at Argonne National Laboratory and Northwestern University, he moved to Cornell University, where he holds positions in Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research and Information Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.[8] He teaches courses on computational optimization, machine learning, and deep learning, as well as process design.[9] He is Cornell Energy Institute's associate director,[10] and Chair of Ph.D. Studies in Systems Engineering.[11]

You is an associate editor of Science Advances,[12] an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology[13] and editor of Computers & Chemical Engineering.[14] He is a member of the editorial boards of ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering,[15] AIChE Journal,[16] and the Industrial & Engineering Chemistry.[17]
