Reception

Chris Witt of AllMusic commended Casual for his lyrical abilities, noting how the MC "produces an unending and seemingly unstoppable flow of boasts and taunts," and also remarking that "the simplicity of his message belies the complexity of his vicious wordplay."[1] Cbeo H. Coker of Vibe said, "Casual's braggadocious, rip-roaring flow is fortified by upright bass lines, serpentine jazz/funk horns, and thunderous drum kicks."[2]

In 2008, it was listed by Vibe as one of the 24 Lost Rap Classics.[5]

Personnel

Information taken from AllMusic.[6]

gollark: Hmm, there are 1962 starters, this *cannot* be that slow.
gollark: Although it probably shouldn't run in quadratic time, at least.
gollark: Ah, it looks like the weighted random algorithm is poor.
gollark: Or I could just reimplement the entire markov module in Rust or something.
gollark: I'll see if I can make it work faster first.
