History

The station was opened on 1 October 1906 by King Haakon VII [2] and remained until the line closed on 1 January 1989. It was 208.79 kilometers (129.74 mi) from Oslo Central Station and 360 meters (1,180 ft) above mean sea level.[3] Originally the restaurant at the station was run by Fagernes Hotel, which is located adjacent to the station. Following the new station building which was built in the early 1950s, Norsk Spisevognselskap took over the operation of the restaurant in the new building.[4]

gollark: Shame it's centralized.
gollark: Interesting, that is at least something.
gollark: Also, it's ridiculously verbose and you don't get stack traces.
gollark: It's meant to encode the idea of the thing *or* an error being returned, but it doesn't; there's nothing in the type preventing you from just returning two things, or zero things.
gollark: (also, like many Go things it is not well integrated with anything else; the multiple returns aren't first class like python tuples, you can't unpack them into function calls, etc)
