Fíachna Lonn mac Cóelbad

Fíachna Lonn mac Cóelbad ("the fierce") (flourished 482) was a Dal nAraide king in modern County Antrim, Ulster. He was the son of Cáelbad mac Cruind Ba Druí, a high king of Ireland and King of Ulster and brother of the previous Dal nAraide kings Sárán mac Cóelbad and Condlae mac Cóelbad.[1]

He is listed in king lists as successor to his brothers. In some annals he is mentioned as a participant in the Battle of Ochae (Faughan Hill, near Kells) in 482 which overthrew the high king Ailill Molt of Connacht.[2] The Annals of Ulster call him the son of the King of Dal nAraide.[3] While other later annals such as the Chronicum Scotorum call him King of Dal nAraide.[4]

The descendants of his brother Condlae were to provide the ruling line the Uí Chóelbad of Dal nAraide.

gollark: It's not like having a good score causes you to be a good doctor.
gollark: I mean, if they won't actually... work as a doctor... then they aren't really very good.
gollark: > you could get the best damn doctor in the world, highest grades and shit, but you hire him and he doesnt treat minorities, what are you gonna do? He is the best qualified, after allThat would make them... not a good doctor?
gollark: > Well, it ends up being biased, just like life.Don't deliberately include *more*.
gollark: So come up with better scoring criteria, don't just bias the whole system.
