Education
Deelman attended Wells College where she obtained her B.A. in mathematics in 1987. She received her M.S. in computer science at State University of New York at New Paltz in 1991, and later went on to earn her Ph.D. in computer science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1997.[9] Her Ph.D. dissertation was titled, Performance Optimization of Parallel Discrete Event Simulation of Spatially Explicit Problems, and was supervised by Bolesław Szymański.[6]
Research
Her current research interests[10] include scientific workflow systems, cloud computing, resource management, with particular emphasis on scientific workflow system management. She applies advances in knowledge technologies for management of large amounts of data and metadata. [11]
