The wingspan is 40–45 mm (1.6–1.8 in). The forewings have seven spots at the basal part and five apical spots. There are three long black striae parallel with the costa and there is one spot at the middle of the wing. The hindwings are black, but yellow at the base.
Etymology
The species name refers to the three parallel striae of the forewings.[3]
