Erzsébet Gaál

Erzsébet Gaál is a native of Hungary currently living in Bloomington, Indiana, where she is an active professional harpist, Kodály pedagogue and a researcher in the field of physical wellness for musicians. She studied with Distinguished Professor Susann McDonald at Indiana University where she graduated with a Doctor of Music in Harp Performance and Harp Literature in 2000.

Awards

Pro Artibus Award, 2006. The Artisjus Music Foundation in Budapest, Hungary, recognized Gaál for promoting Hungarian contemporary music abroad during the past 18 years.

Harpa Hungarica, 2001. Solo Hungarian harp music from 16th century arrangements to 20th century original compositions.

Harp Playing for Life, 2002. An educational video demonstrating the application of the Kovács method to harp playing.
