Emblem of East Turkestan

The Emblem of East Turkestan (Uyghur: شەرقىي تۈركىستان دۆلەت گېربى) was adopted on November 12, 1933, when the Islamic Republic of East Turkestan declared independence. After the fall of the Islamic Republic, it became a symbol of the East Turkestan independence movement.[1]

Structure

Basmala

The basmala was in the middle is stylised as a tughra.

Crescent

There is a Crescent under the Basmala.

Three Stars

There is three stars on top of the emblem which represent three independent states which existed in or throughout the East Turkistan territory.

Circles

There is 18 circles with different size which represent 18 local tribes who lived in the territory.

  • 1.Pechinek; 2.Qipchaq; 3.Oghuz; 4.Basmil; 5.Qay; 6.Yabaqu; 7.Tatar; 8.Kyrgyz; 9.Chigil;
  • 10.Toqsi; 11.Yaghma; 12.Oghraq; 13. Charuq; 14. Chumul; 15. Uyghur; 16.Tangghut; 17.Qitan; 18.Tawghach.
