Elza Erkip

Elza Erkip is a Turkish-American electrical and computer engineer, professor and wireless technology researcher at New York University.[1][2]

Education

Erkip received her B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University in Turkey, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. She ranked among the top 1% of highly cited scholars in computer science from 2002-2012 according to Thomson Reuters.[1][3]

Background

Erkip is one of the researchers at NYU WIRELESS, where they are currently conducting indepth research into 5G wireless cell technology using millimeter wave (mmWave) wireless communications.[4] She is also a fellow and member of the Board of Governors of IEEE, and a member of The Science Academy Society of Turkey.[5]

gollark: I mean, a 3D printer is way cheaper than other plastic-making things to buy, but if you need large quantities of plastic things then it's more expensive.
gollark: Per... individual thing, yes, but not necessarily per unit of output or whatever.
gollark: Cost-efficiency's still a problem.
gollark: I see.
gollark: Also, I may be wrong but I think a lot of generation things are more efficient at larger scales rather than smaller ones.
