Ellen Rank
Ellen J. Rank (née Simson) is an American Jewish educational consultant, author and editor.
Education
Rank has an MA in classical Hebrew literature from the University of Pennsylvania and a MS in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary.[1]
Career
Rank served as an educational consultant for the Jewish Education Association of the MetroWest,[2] and as a member of the editorial committees of Scott E. Blumenthal's The Explorer's Bible: Volume 2: From Sinai to the Nation of Israel, alongside Martin S. Cohen, Dina Maiben, and Sunny Yudkoff.[3] She facilitated the Jewish Education Project's virtual "Innovation in Jewish Education" network.[4] Rank previously taught at the Solomon Schechter Middle School of Nassau County, the two lower school campuses of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union (since renamed the Golda Och Academy), and the religious school of Merrick Jewish Center.[5] Rank has served as an educational consultant for the Plainview Jewish Center, Midway Jewish Center, and Temple Beth Israel (Port Washington, NY).[6]
Rank is the author of the educational guide of the Yiddish production of Fiddler on the Roof.
Personal life
Rank is married to Rabbi Perry Rank and is the mother of three, including Jonah Rank.
