El Cimarrón (film)

The film El Cimarrón follows the lives of two African slaves brought to Puerto Rico during the era of slavery in the 19th Century. It is based on the life of Marcos Xiorro who conspired and planned a slave revolt in 1821.

  • Academy Awards: The film was considered, among four other Puerto Rican films, to be submitted for the 80th Academy Awards. For the selection, a voting was held on September 24, 2007 among members of the Puerto Rico Film Corporation. However, Maldeamores was selected instead. gollark: Also also, you don't quite need new-car levels of spending, RTX 3090s are "only" $2000 or so.
gollark: Also, the K80 is actually just two (bad) GPUs with 12GB of RAM each, which means it probably doesn't work well for everything.
gollark: Technically, you can add more RAM to consumer GPUs if you have specialized equipment and very steady hands.
