El Camino High School is unique in the Ventura Unified School District in that it allows students to complete work at home. Students are required to come to school and meet with their teacher at least once a week to turn in work and take tests. To maintain enrollment, students must complete a minimum of 20 hours of work per week. Many students supplement their core school work with extracurricular activities such as music, art, or drama at other local high schools, sports, or Ventura College classes. Many students also work full or part-time, earning credits through the work experience class. The school offers the University of California āA to Gā college prep courses and is a middle college academy that uses educational pathways including community college classes, internships, community service projects, and participation in work experience.
The school's address is 61 Day Road, Ventura, CA 93003
Currently, El Camino has a small enrollment. The number of students will be allowed to expand, however, due to its recent move to the Ventura College campus.
