Eike Christian Hirsch

Eike Christian Hirsch (born 1937) is a German journalist and author.[1] He studied theology and philosophy in Goettingen, Heidelberg and Basel. Up to 1996 he was an editor in sound broadcasting at the NDR and is now a freelance journalist. He wrote books on questions of faith and the German language. He is also the wrote a series of humorous word definitions, "Deutsch für Besserwisser", which were first published in the Stern and later collected into book form.

Awards

In 1986, he was awarded the Kassel Literary Prize,[2] for grotesque humor for his amusing interpretation (“Der Witzableiter oder die Schule des Lachens”, 1985). In 1992 he won the Niedersächsischer Staatspreis (Lower Saxony State Prize) for Journalism.[3]

gollark: You can, I'm sure, just complain that all examples of that aren't REAL communism. But really, centralized economic power leads to centralized political power.
