EDGEOUT can sign bands it will "upstream" to one of Universal's labels, or alternately, do a self-distribution deal with a unit of Universal.[1]

Its Los Angeles-based artist development program, The STUDIO at EDGEOUT Records, is a program for selected artists.[2] Chosen musicians are offered a position in The Studio development program to educate them about being an artist in the music industry. The program includes a series of consultations with the head of A&R aimed at stage performance, songwriting, developing a signature sound, branding, image, thriving and wellness in the music business, social media, and other matters. Between visits the band or artist is assigned projects for the artist or band to complete during their down time. At the conclusion, if judged to have used the advice effectively, the artist may be considered for future recording and distribution agreements for EDGEOUT.[3]

EDGEOUT announced its first signing, The Jacks, in January 2019.[4] The band released its first EDGEOUT Records EP on 28 June 2019.[5]. Its second EP, Remember You was released on 6 March 2020 with two Instant Grat Tracks ("Just a Little Bit" 1/24/2020, "Olivia" 2/14/2020) and a new single "Threw It All Away" preceding the new EP.[6]

EDGEOUT Records signed its second band, The Revelries, in winter of 2019, who are the first to experience Studio Development program[7]. Immediate plans call for The Revelries to record new music with the goal of releasing in Summer 2020[8].

EDGEOUT Records signed its first established artist, DJ Ashba, in March of 2020[9] who is pursuing a new era in his musical career through his project 'ASHBA'. He plans to release music before Summer 2020.

The company was founded by Tony Guanci, who has consulted for Universal Music Group, Interscope Records, Disney, NBC Universal Studios, and professional sports franchises, and is Vice Chairman of music festival promoter Danny Wimmer Presents,[10] and Cheryl Benson-Guanci, a co-owner and partner of The DCB Group.
