Dusky-throated hermit

The dusky-throated hermit (Phaethornis squalidus) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is endemic to humid Atlantic Forest in south-eastern Brazil. It formerly included the streak-throated hermit as a subspecies. A small hermit with a total length of approximately 9 cm, it has pale buff underparts and dark streaks on the throat.
