History

Dundas Data Visualization (formerly Dundas Software) was founded in 1992 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

After an early success with Dundas Chart in 2002, the company developed Dundas Gauge, Map, OLAP Chart, and Calendar controls, which were purchased by Microsoft in 2007 to become part of their Reporting Services, SharePoint, and .NET offerings.[1]

Recognition

In 2020, Dundas was recognized in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms for the first time as a 'Niche Vendor' for its expertise in customizable and embedded analytics and personal customer experience [2]. That same year, Dundas was named a champion in SoftwareReviews' Emotional Footprint Report [3], received top rankings for vendor capability and product feature satisfaction in the Dundas BI Product Scorecard Report from Info-Tech Research Group [4], received the highest composite score amongst 14 vendors in the Business Intelligence Data Quadrant Report from Info-Tech [5], was named a GetApp Category Leader [6], was awarded four Best-in-Class SelectHub Software Awards for Advanced Analytics, Data Visualization, Reporting and Data Querying and a User Favorite SelectHub Software Award for Business Intelligence Software [7], was ranked as a Data Visualization Software FrontRunner by Software Advice [8], and was named as a High Performer in G2's Grid Report for Embedded Business Intelligence | Summer 2020 [9]

In 2019, Dundas BI was rated #1 for Embedded Business Intelligence and Flexibility and a leader in over 40 categories in The BARC BI Survey 19, the world's largest and most comprehensive survey of BI software users [10]. In 2016, SelectHub ranked Dundas BI #2 on their Business Intelligence Leaderboard.[14] In 2016, TrustRadius named Dundas BI a Best Full Stack Business Intelligence Platform.[15] Additionally, Dundas BI was named a 2016 Top Rated Business Intelligence Tool by Software Users. In 2015, Dundas Data Visualization was awarded the Dresner Advisory Services Overall Leadership Industry Excellence Award, presented to vendors achieving leadership status in Dresner's Advisory's 2015 Wisdom of Crowds Business Intelligence and/or Enterprise Planning Research. In 2010, their product Dundas Dashboard has won a Best of TechEd award in the Business Intelligence category.[16] Dundas Software has been recognized multiple times as one of fastest growing Canadian companies, [17][18][19] and by 2007 it reached a place within top 250 Canadian technology companies.[20][21] Dundas has been also recognized on regular basis as one of the most innovative software companies by SD Times [22][23][24][25]
