Dreikönigskirche, Frankfurt

The Dreikönigskirche (English: Church of the Three Kings) is a Protestant church and parish in Frankfurt. It is located on the south bank of the Main river in Sachsenhausen.

At the location of the present church, a Gothic hospital chapel was consecrated to the Three Kings in 1340.[1] The present building was designed by Franz Joseph von Denzinger in Gothic revival style, and built from 1875 to 1881. It has five bays, with a vaulted main nave, extended in the middle by side naves with impressive stone galleries.[2]

The church was not damaged during World War II.[3] In 1956, stained glass windows by Charles Crodel were installed. A new organ was built by Karl Schuke Berliner Orgelbauwerkstatt from Berlin in 1961, following a disposition by Helmut Walcha.[2]
