Dolapo Oni
Dolapo Oni, sometimes referred as Marcy Dolapo Oni [1] is an actress and media personality, born in Lagos and the youngest of four children. She had her secondary education at Headington Girls Independent School in Oxford, United Kingdom and served as the first black head girl of the school. She attended University of Bristol, in the United Kingdom - where she obtained a degree in Chemistry. [2]

Early life
Oni is an actress[3], TV presenter, mentor [4], MC [5], and the youngest of 4 children of her family. She spent 20 years living in the United Kingdom before she returned back to Nigeria in 2010.[6] As a 10 year old child, Dolapo Oni wanted to be an actress after she saw the musical of Aspects of Love by Andrew Lloyd Webber at The Oxford Playhouse in the United Kingdom. She later went to study chemistry in the university due to advice she received from her parents.
Oni started acting while she was living in the United Kingdom, after the completion of her University Degree in Chemistry, by going to drama school. She got her first job in Nigeria shortly after her return to Nigeria, at Studio 53 Extra where she spent three years learning about TV presenting and production. She left Studio 53 extra almost the same time as when she left Moments with Mo so as to start her own show - "The Marcy Project". [7]
Oni was involved with the panel show “So You Wanna Get Married” and “So You Wanna Get Married” in the United Kingdom. [8] She is also the producer of Diary of a Lagos Girl. Some of her role models in film industry are Mrs. Biola Alabi and Mrs.Bolanle-Austen Peters.[9]
She had her first child in 2017. [10]
Career
Oni completed her A levels and a degree in chemistry from University of Bristol before she applied to various drama schools. She later secured a place to study at Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in Wandsworth, London - where she acted in numerous plays which including Walking Waterfall by Nii Ayikwei Parkes; William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream; In Time by Bola Agbaje; God is a DJ by Oladipo Agboluaje and Iya-Ile (The First Wife). She once received the Dorothy L Sayers Drama Award. [11]
Oni made her TV debut in the United Kingdom with the BBC mini-series "Vexed", before she moved back to Nigeria. She has anchored on the MNET show[12], 53 Extra (formerly Studio 53 Extra) on Africa Magic, before co-hosting "Moments with Mo" on Ebony Life TV. [13] She starred Diary of a Lagos Girl and Desperate Housewives Africa. [14]
