History

When Dixie Plaza opened in 1982, it had a Pharma Plus, some small restaurants, a few small stores, and a Towers department store. In 1990, Towers Department Store closed and was replaced by a new Zellers store. A few years later, a Town and Country location was constructed and later opened to the public. Town and Country closed in 2005 and it was replaced by a Canadian-Chinese buffet named Imperial Buffet. In 2005, the Zellers store at the Dixie Plaza closed and was replaced by three smaller stores: Premier Fitness, Liquidation World, and Talize. In 2012, Pharma Plus closed and was renovated into a Rexall drug-mart. In 2014, Liquidation World closed and was replaced by Wow What a Deal. In the same year, Premier Fitness closed and converted into an LA Fitness. Some smaller stores closed between 2009 and 2015. In mid-2018, Imperial Buffet shut down and Value Village relocated.
