Diplomatic Immunity is a 1991 American action thriller film directed by Peter Maris, it is based on the novel The Stalker by Theodore Taylor.

Plot

Marine Cole Hickel (Boxletiner) vows revenge on evil Klaus Hermann (Bresnahan) who has killed his daughter. Hermann has an obsession with murdering people and photographing their dead bodies. He also has diplomatic immunity as his mother, Gerta (Foster), is the President of Paraguay, and therefore he cannot be prosecuted by conventional means. Hickel travels to Paraguay and teams up with a smuggler name Cowboy (Drago) to take his own revenge.

Production

Development

Diplomatic Immunity is based on the 1987 novel The Stalker by Theodore Taylor (who was mainly known as a children's author). One of the changes in the movie is the location of the action, which takes place in Europe in the book, but is moved to Paraguay for the movie.[2]

gollark: What would be nice is if they'd let me remote-learn a few days a week as the in-person stuff will be pretty limited anyway, except nobody seems to have thought of that or considered that it might be a good idea some people might like?

gollark: So my school has sent out its plans to keep people socially distant and whatnot while at school during the term (starting in a week and a half or so), and they seem like they should actually be pretty effective (apart from the bits about not sharing pencils etc. and wiping down tables a lot, as apparently surface transmission is overrated). They would *also*, though, make lots of school things extremely annoying.
