Dinteloord

Dinteloord is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant.The village has 5,600 inhabitants (2004 est.)

Dinteloord is known because of the sugarplant that it houses, and the Muza festivals that have been held for over 50 years.

History

The village got its name in 1448 that points to the nearby river the Dintel.

On the 4th of November 1944, a large part of the village was destroyed as a part of an allied bombing campaign

From 1606 till 1997 Dinteloord was (together with Prinsenland an independent municipality). At present it is part of the municipality of Steenbergen.

In 2005 the 400th jubilee was celebrated with a number of special festivities.
