Devda

Devda is a village in Porbandar district, Gujarat, India.[1] It is on the bank of the Minsar river.The population of the village is around 4000 and most of people are doing farming. And major resources of farming water is wells and tube wells and major crops are cotton, groundnut, onion, and jira. Devda was also famous for its papaya and chilli but currently farmers are not growing these crops

It is near to Arabian sea. There is a chance of humidity in the weather.

Education facilities in Devda: Primary Education: There are two separate primary school for boys and girls from standard 1 to 8.

High school is also available with commerce and arts streams from standard 9 to 12. For high school education there were lots of students were coming from other nearby villages like rana khirasara,khageshri,iswariya,Ramnagar,Mahobatpara,sakhpur and vansjalia

And for primary school one private school also recently started so education perspective Devda is better than other neighbour villages but nowadays this count has been decreased.

Health facilities There is primary Health center is also available but required medical staff is not available now.

Financial services facilities There is state bank of saurashtra is also available in Devda from many years and now its state bank of India this is very good facility for villagers and most of other neighbor villager are also coming here for the banking and safe deposit locker,ATM,crop loan are major services in the branch.

Religions Most of people are Hindu. Shree Ram temple, shivji temple, hanuman temple, chamunda mataji temple and balkrishna Haveli is also available in Devda There are 2-3 families are also from Muslim religion

Before Independence Devda was ruled by Nawab of Gunagadh Devda was last village of his state and there are three other states border are touching 1) Sakhpur (Jamsaheb Jamnagar state) 2) Rana Khirasara (Rana saheb porbandar state) One of the family member is government teacher work in all over saurastra region. Means education avairness since independent of India. One shiv temple (MATH) is ancient 200 years. Devda is established (TIMBO) kansangra bapa (patel) & odedara (MER) since long period. So major population is kadva patel & mer community.

shortage of water for farmers, cattle breeder and house hold for house hold Narmada's water is there but main problem is for farmers, cattle breeder in summer seasons to solve this issues villagers are requesting to government to construct a dam on Minsar river from last 20 years which can help more than 3 three village and finally government of Gujarat has approved this project and construction is also started by Kisan Infra PVT LTD New Construction of Shree Ramji Temple has been also started. there are lots of new things has been blessed to villagers by 2016 like new Ramji temple, New Dam on Minsar river, and New Entry Gate by Aghera families, etc..

The primery school in Devda village has been started since the year 1879 ( 150 years ago approx) The Kanya Shala school has been started since the year 1951. The High School has been started from the year 1961. A palace has been built by the Navab of Junagadh state on the bank of Minsar river during the year 1926. Earlier , Devda vilage was under Junagadh District. At present under Porbandar District. while opening Higher Secondary School, Devda was 2nd village to run Higher Secondary in the Junagadh District. The students of Kutiyana ( Tehsil Centre) and other nearby villages were commuting daily to attend the school.
