History

Deparo High School was also known as Deparo Barangay High School in the school year 1972 and it started with just 42 students and one teacher in the first batch until it completed the fourth-year level in the school year 1975-1976.

When the student population at Deparo Barangay High School began to rise, it was renamed as Deparo High School along with continuous developmental changes.

On June 29, 1992, the Caloocan City Council passed an ordinance stating that an area of three thousand six hundred fifty-three (3,653) sq. meters situated at Deparo, Caloocan city, was reserved for the exclusive use of Deparo High School.

Today, Deparo High School caters 2, 808 students with two shifts of classes each day with the first and third-year students taking the morning session and the second and fourth years in the afternoon. DHS envisions developing and molding its students and its goal to be a catalyst for good change so the school also draws awards.

DHS was awarded 1st place in Project OSCAR as Outstanding School in Cleanliness and Recycling and best school in the implementation of Gulayan sa Paaralan ranking 2nd place at the regional level. DHS is also the first placer in the Brigada Eskwela contest in the medium category and as the Best School in the implementation of the Go Green project.

The strategic location of the school which is very accessible to transportation and the growing number of residential subdivisions in the area has paved the way for the potential increase in the number of students. Deparo High School also offers Open High school and Alternative Learning System or ALS. [1]
