Demetric Evans
Demetric Untrell Evans (born September 3, 1979) is a former professional American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys (2001-2003), Washington Redskins (2004-2008) and the San Francisco 49ers (2008-2010). He also was a member of the Cologne Centurions in NFL Europe (2004). He played college football at the University of Georgia (1997-2000).

Early years
Evans attended Haynesville High School, where he was a three year starter and letterman. He helped his team win 3 consecutive state titles in 1994-1996. As a senior, while receiving all-district, all-state, All-American, and AA Defensive Player of the Year, he had over 30 scholarship offers. In 2007, Evans' jersey was retired.
Evans also played basketball and as a senior where he averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds per game.
College career
Evans accepted a football scholarship to attend the University of Georgia, where he played as a true freshman. As a sophomore, he played in a rotating role on the DL the entire season. As a junior, Evans saw more playing time and started 4 games. Evans also started in the Outback Bowl with a win against Purdue University. As a senior, Evans started in 3 games, and finished the season with a win in the Ohaul Bowl. Evans finished his college career with 4 bowl wins.
Professional career
Dallas Cowboys
Evans signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys after the 2001 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Evans played in all 16 games as a reserve defensive end and a key special teams player. In 2002, Evans saw action in 4 games and was inactive in 12 games. Evans was released on August 31, 2003.
Washington Redskins
Evans signed with the Washington Redskins in 2004. He started in 8 games and played in 4 games and missed 4 games due to an ankle injury. Evans played with the Redskins through 2008 having a key role on the defensive line and in 2008 was considered the best defensive line by the Washington Post.
San Francisco 49ers
On March 10, 2009, Evans signed in free agency with the San Francisco 49ers on a two-year deal. Evans played in 14 games in 2009, and missed 2 games due to an injury against the Colts. In 2010, Evans played in all 16 games. In August 2011, Evans' contract was not renewed. Evans retired in 2011 from the National Football League.
Personal life
Evans graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Consumer Science. He also completed his Masters from the University of Alabama. Most recently, Evans was honored with the 2019 "40 Under 40" Award by the University of Georgia. Evans is married to Dr. Aungel Evans and they have two sons, Noah and Logan. In August of 2018, Evans was inducted into the Ark La Tex Sports Hall of Fame. He is currently a consultant for the National Football League Players Association.
