The wingspan is about 50 mm. The forewings of the males are as in Delias castaneus, but with some white dusting beyond the end of the cell. The hindwings are also as in castaneus, but with a wider black margin reaching the anal angle. Females resemble the males, but the forewings have a reduced white area which is usually yellow-tinged, especially distally. There is also a submarginal row of five yellowish white dots. The hindwings have a wider black border and the bluish-white area is tinged with yellow distally.[3]
