Dean is a borough within Dean Township in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 408 at the 2000 census.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 408 people, 165 households, and 124 families residing in the borough. The racial makeup of the borough was 98.8% White, and 1.2% American Indian and Alaskan Native.
