Davie504

Davide Biale (born 5 April 1994), known by his online alias Davie504, is an Italian YouTuber and musician known for playing bass guitar with a slapping technique.[1]

Career

Biale started his YouTube channel in 2011. In 2012, he began to upload unconventional cover performances of songs.[2] Examples of these videos include him using M&M's to cover songs by Eminem,[3] a Korn medley played with actual corn,[4][5] and a Red Hot Chili Peppers medley played with actual chili peppers.[6] He also performs musical challenges, which are often suggested to him by comments on his videos, such as playing an uninterrupted slap bass solo for 5 hours,[7] and playing a bassline which was claimed by Deadmau5 to be "technically impossible".[8]

Biale is also known for uploading meme-related videos and covers. Most notably, he contributed to the PewDiePie vs T-Series competition, where he played a bass cover of "Bitch Lasagna" outside of the T-Series headquarters and well as a video series where he reacts to posts made on his subreddit page.[9][10]

In 2017, Chowny Bass released the Davie504 signature bass guitar.[11] In May 2019, Biale was listed as number two on MusicRadar's list of "the 20 hottest bassists in the world today".[12] He received his Youtube Gold Play Button later that year, which he turned into a custom bass alongside Amnesia Guitars.[13]

World Challenges

Biale has uploaded a series entitled "World Challenges", where he travels to places suggested by viewers and plays songs associated with those places. These include bass covers of:

• Toto's "Africa" played at the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania (28 December 2018)[14]
• PewDiePie and Party in Backyard's "Bitch Lasagna" played at the T-Series headquarters in Noida, India to support PewDiePie's feud against T-Series (20 January 2019)[15]
• Various anime and Japanese video game soundtracks played at different locations in Japan (3 March 2019)[16]
• Men at Work's "Down Under" played in Sydney and Broken Hill in Australia (24 March 2019)[17]
• Various meme songs played at the EU headquarters in Brussels to protest against Article 13 (12 April 2019)[18]
• A medley of Boney M.'s "Rasputin", the Tetris theme, and anthem of the former Soviet Union played in Moscow, Russia (28 July 2019)[19]
• John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads" played in Morgantown and the Coopers Rock State Forest in West Virginia, U.S. (2 December 2019)[20]
• Red Hot Chili Peppers' song "Around the World" played in several cities across the world, including ones he had been to in previous world challenges (30 December 2019)[21]

Personal life

Biale has an indigenous Taiwanese girlfriend, who also plays bass.[22] She has her own YouTube channel, Drungayu, where she appears in videos with Biale.[23]
