Rugby Union career

Amateur career

Fisher played rugby union for West of Scotland.[2]

Provincial career

He was named as a reserve for Glasgow District for their match against North of Scotland District on 15 December 1888.[3]

He was picked for Glasgow District for their match against North of Scotland District on 13 December 1890.[4]

He played for Glasgow District in their inter-city match against Edinburgh District in 1892, the Glasgow Herald noting him as 'D. Fisher junior'.[5]

International career

Fisher was capped once by Scotland, in 1893.[6]

His ability split opinion on those who thought he was a notable forward and those who didn't. One Scottish Referee newspaper commentator rated all of the Glasgow District forwards and out of the 9 forwards tipped for selection for the time Fisher was among the best and good with his feet.[7] Another Scottish Referee commentator said of Fisher's selection to the international team that he 'was a good way outside of the ability which should be in a Scotland team.'[8]

Other sports

Fisher was also in the West of Scotland Harriers.[9]

gollark: I mostly think of it as the second one. It's possible palaiologos is trying to move it toward the first, and I don't like this.
gollark: It's possible that this stems partly from differences in perception of what esolangs actually is; esoteric programming language discussion place which happens to have a somewhat weird community in it versus weird community which happens to exist in something nominally for esolang discussion.
gollark: Ah, sinthÖrion.
gollark: I figure people are mostly prompted by *something* instead of just bringing it up entirely at random, and a ControversialEsolangs server would lack many of those prompts if it's purely for that.
gollark: And controversial stuff has never arisen from discussing something else?
