Bishop attended Treorchy Comprehensive School Treorchy Comprehensive from September 1995 to July 2002. His brother Andrew, is also a rugby union centre and has played for the Wales national rugby union team.

He joined the Ospreys in 2004 after the disbandment of the Celtic Warriors and played in 22 games, scoring 4 tries altogether. This earned him a call up to the national team but soon after suffered a serious knee injury in a game against Munster. In 2009, he joined Sale Sharks and in August 2010 he joined Newport Gwent Dragons[1] for a short spell before signing a 5 months contract with Edinburgh Rugby. In 2011 David joined Jersey RFC helping them gain promotion to the RFU Championship.

gollark: I sort of like writing JS but feel guilty about it because my code will inevitably break when it hits an error condition of some sort and/or a dependency implodes, Rust is a much nicer language in various ways but stricter when I *do not actually care* about shaving off a few ms and garbage collection is fine, I tried OCaml but the tooling isn't *great* and the libraries seem to be lacking.
