Daughters of Glorious Jesus

Daughters of Glorious Jesus is a Ghanaian musical trio composed of women namely Cynthia Appiadu, Edna Sarpong and Monica Owusu Ansah. They are a gospel group who sing in English and Twi.[1] With over fifty songs still with strong appeal to audience, DoG-J has the most number of songs by a Ghanaian Gospel Artiste that is on the list of all time favourites.

Some of their songs are: ‘Odo ben ni’, ‘Ene manya enigye’, ‘Yewo Yesu bi’, ‘Yesu fata Ayeyi’, ‘Aseda Ben (from the ‘Mesom Awurade Daa’ album) ‘Fawasem to Awurade anim’, ‘Ben Awurade’, ‘Okasapreko’, ‘Nea yehu’, ‘Asomdwee Hene’, ‘Towoboase’, ‘Onokwafo Nyame’, ‘Yesu fata Ayeyi’, ‘Yeyi w’aye’, ‘Yewo Yesu bi’, ‘Hwan koraa na ote se wo’, ‘Oteeneeni’, ‘Onam ne wuo so’, ‘He paid the Debt’, ‘I have Decided to Follow Jesus’, ‘Jesus is King’, ‘Wo ntaban’, ‘Aseda Ben(from the ‘Aseda’ album)’, ‘Bebree’, ‘Odomfo’, ‘Yesu mo’, ‘Ahintabea’, ‘Agya woso’, ‘Adedie’, ‘Obi dowo’, ‘Onyame wo ho’, ‘Meda w’oase’, ‘Osaberima kese’, and a host of others.

The group is known for its excellent three part harmony. Cynthia the lead vocalist is one of the best Soprano vocalists in Ghana with a wide vocal range. But she is not only good with the microphone, but also on the drum, and other traditional musical instruments. Cynthia, who happens to be the youngest, writes and composes most of the songs of the group. The trio always appears on stage with a breath taking unpredictable craft. They have served as role models for other artists that came after them, such as, Ohemaa Mercy, Noble Nketsiah, Willie and Mike, and Cee. DoG-J sings in both Twi and English. Their appearances on stages and in videos have been the most modest and graceful.

DoG-J only performs with live band on stage, and the best time to hear them is when they perform a cappella. They are known for their funky style, and ability to fuse highlife with the western style of music very well. In 2019, the trio celebrated their 30th anniversary in ministry with a number of activities including a gala, concerts etc .[2]

gollark: MultiMC is from the AUR, and recompiling it didn't fix it.
gollark: I tried downgrading Qt but it turns out downgrading is hard and I can't make it work right.
gollark: Lemmmy, you can Linux, right? Do you have any idea why the Qt-using applications (MultiMC, Calibre) I have appear to be segfaulting and/or what I can do about it?
gollark: KDE is resource-intensive, apparently, and LXDE is good enough.
gollark: Hmm. This is very annoying. 5.14.0 doesn't work and 5.13.whatever causes problems because it's a different version to what the applications want.
