Danyang U clan
The Danyang U clan (Korean: 단양 우씨; Hanja: 丹陽 禹氏) is a Korean clan. Their Bon-gwan is in Danyang County, North Chungcheong Province. According to the research held in 2015, the number of the Danyang U clan was 191287. Danyang U clan was also one of the Chinese surnames. Their founder was U Hyeon who was a descendant of Yu the Great. U Jung dae, U Hyeon’s 6 th descendant, worked as Menxia Shilang (hanja: 門下侍郎) and officially began Danyang U clan.[1][2]
