Damir Mihanović

Damir Mihanović (3 July 1961 – 1 January 2020), known by stage name Ćubi, was a Croatian comedian and musician.

Biography

Mihanović was born in Split and spent his childhood in an old part of the town called Varoš.

He is known to the general public for memorable roles in episodes on Croatian Radiotelevision and later in episodes of the music-entertainment show Nad lipom 35 aired on Nova TV, which was his last role; roles in various commercials, and before that as a drummer from the Zadar-based band Forum. In his music career, he stands out for the popular song "Pumpaj", released on his 1998 album Rješenje za dobro raspoloženje (English: Solution for Good Mood).

On 30 November 2019, during a shooting on Nova TV, Mihanović became sick and was admitted to the hospital the same night where he was diagnosed with lung cancer. At first, he was staying in the Zagreb hospital of Sestre milosrdnice, but later he was moved to his hometown. On 1 January 2020, at 2:15 PM, he died at age 58.[2] Mihanović was buried at Lovrinac Cemetery on 3 January.[3]
