Samuels lives in the community of Daytona in Saint Catherine, Jamaica.

Samuels represented Clarendon College in the Dacosta Cup where he was a leading goal scorer during his time.

He attended Greater Portmore High School until he was drafted by the Clarendon College Dacosta Cup Giants where he played alongside players like Andre Blake. He later played for Sporting Central Academy where he became captain after less than a year.
