Dallas W. Anderson

Dallas W. Anderson is a businessman who founded MicroMed Technology Inc. in 1995,[1] and in 1996 was granted exclusive rights to the NASA/DeBakey VAD.[2]

Anderson worked with Dr. Michael E. DeBakey and Dr. George P. Noon to further develop the pump and bring the device to the public.[3] Clinical trials began in Europe in November 1998 for the MicroMed DeBakey VAD.[4] The MicroMed DeBakey VAD is an axial-flow ventricular assist device and is known as a second-generation LVAD.

In 2005, MicroMed Technology Inc. went public through a reverse merger with Salmon Express Inc. on the OTC Bulletin Board as a penny stock. As a result, the company was renamed MicroMed Cardiovascular Inc.[5] However, in 2008 the company became a private company once again after a reverse split of the company stock by Rodger Ford and David Mackstaller of SynCardia Systems Inc.[6]

MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2013.[7]

Former members of MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc. founded ReliantHeart Inc. in August 2013.[8] ReliantHeart Inc. became successor-in-interest to the assets of MicroMed Cardiovascular, Inc.[9]
