D'Arcy Boulton (heraldist)
D'Arcy Jonathan Dacre Boulton, UE FRHSC AIH (born 1946) is a Canadian historian, armorist and heraldic author.[1]
Education and career
Having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Trinity College and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Boulton completed a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford in 1976 and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978.[2][3] He is a Professor of the Practice of Medieval Studies and Concurrent Associate Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.[2][4]
Boulton is a member of the Académie Internationale d'Héraldique.[4] In 1993, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada,[1] and he has served as the dean of the society's College of Fellows.[5]
