Cris Jacobs

Cris Jacobs is an American singer-songwriter from Baltimore, Maryland. A local fixture in Maryland music, Jacobs was called "The King of Baltimore rock'n'roll" by Baltimore magazine.[1]

In the early 2000s, Jacobs played (alongside Patrick McAvinue) in a bluegrass band, Smooth Kentucky, in the Baltimore area.[2] Concomitantly, Jacobs was the guitarist and vocalist for The Bridge from the band's founding in 2001 until its breakup in 2011.[3] In 2012, he released an album with his own band, Songs for Cats and Dogs, which led to tours supporting Steve Winwood[4] and Sturgill Simpson in following years.[5] His sophomore full-length, Dust to Gold, arrived in 2016. Jacobs and Ivan Neville recorded an album together as Neville Jacobs in 2017.[6] In 2019, he released his third solo album, Color Where You Are, on Blue Rose Records.[7]

Jacobs holds an annual Christmas concert in the Washington, DC area called A Very Jerry Christmas.[8] Between the releases of Dust to Gold and Color Where You Are, Jacobs married and became a father.[4]

gollark: Which repository?
gollark: I could probably PR in a bit more documentation for the websocket bit, though, good idea.
gollark: I'm just saying that because that documentation exists, it's fine, but it's not "self-documenting".
gollark: Having documentation there clears it up, though.
gollark: Consider the "rich" function. If you consider the arguments there, and its name, you might be able to guess "oh, maybe that gets the richest users", but you may get it wrong and end up annoyed.
