Accident

On 29 October 2007 the tour bus for Decapitated was involved in an accident with a truck carrying wood in Gomel, on the Russia/Belarus border. Both Witold Kieltyka (also known as Vitek) and Adrian Kowanek were seriously injured. While it was initially believed that they were taken to Moscow to be treated after treatment at a local hospital, it was later confirmed that they were only taken to be treated in Novozybkov, where they have remained for the time being. On 2 November 2007 Vitek died from his injuries from the accident. He was 23 years old. Covan has since shown slow but progressive signs of improvement.[3] Covan's family released a short update in October 2008 concerning his improving condition.[4]

In 2008, Kowanek left Decapitated during the band's hiatus, due to his slow recovery. He had reportedly suffered from cardiac arrest and cerebral hypoxia, which left him paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.[5]

gollark: No.
gollark: I would really, excluding the fact that their ecosystems are so bees, prefer to be writing in F# or OCaml or something than Rust, since I do not care about performance as long as common operations take <20ms or so.
gollark: Fine! I'll say something ELSE then! ML-family languages INTERESTING but LACKING IN TOOLING AND ECOSYSTEM!
gollark: > we get it you hate c get new materialWell, I tried mildly disliking python.
gollark: Was my `quick sort.c` not good enough for you?
