Costis Maglaras
Costis Maglaras is a Greek academic administrator and researcher, currently serving as the Dean and David and Lyn Silfen Professor of Business at Columbia Business School.[1]

Early life and education
Maglaras was born in Athens, Greece.[2] He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College London, followed by a Master of Science and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.[3]
Career
Maglaras served in various roles at the Columbia University Data Science Institute. His research focuses on stochastic modeling and data science, with an emphasis on stochastic networks, financial engineering, and quantitative pricing and revenue management. In 2007, Maglaras founded Mismi Inc., a financial technology firm based in New York City. He was elected to the 2019 class of Fellows of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.[4]
In June of 2019, Columbia University President, Lee Bollinger, announced that Maglaras had been selected as the 16th Dean of Columbia Business School. Maglaras took office on July 1, 2019, succeeding economist Glenn Hubbard.[5]
