Corrachadh Mòr

Corrachadh Mòr ETRS89 (56°42′56.20″N 6°13′40.6″W; grid reference NM414662) is a hillock on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in Lochaber, Highland, Scotland, notable for adjoining the most westerly point on the island of Great Britain. It is 37 km or 23 miles further west than Land's End in Cornwall.[1] That is, at Land's End due west (along the line of latitude of Land's End, from the longitude of Land's End) to the longitude of Corrachadh Mòr.

Depending on which coordinates are used, this headland is 31 or 43 metres (102 or 141 ft) west of Ardnamurchan Point (and about a kilometre to its south).[2] That is, at Ardnamurchan Point due west (along the line of latitude of Ardnamurchan Point, from the longitude of Ardnamurchan Point) to the longitude of Corrachadh Mòr. Ardnamurchan Point is commonly, but incorrectly, described as the most westerly point on the peninsula.

Corrachadh Mòr means 'great, tapering field' in Scottish Gaelic.
