Competitive examination
A competitive examination is an examination where candidates are ranked according to their grades and/or percentile and then top rankers are selected . If the examination is open for n positions, then the first n candidates in ranks pass, the others are rejected.
The journey of Academic life is highly competitive and a bit complicated for the students to choose the right platform at the right movement.
They are used as entrance examinations for university and college admissions or to secondary schools. Types are civil service examinations, required for positions in the public sector; the U.S. Foreign Service Exam, and the United Nations Competitive Examination.
In India JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced[1] and NEET UG and NEET PG and NTSE[2] (at high school level )are some examples of competitive examination.
Competitive examinations are considered an egalitarian way to select worthy applicants without risking influence peddling, bias or other concerns. This type of exam subjects candidates under peer pressure to much stress, while self-motivated candidates find it much simpler.
National Talent Search Examination is one of the best prestigious examinations in India.[3] and Regional Mathematics Olympiad (RMO) is a part of Pre-RMO, IMO, INMO, Pre-Departure camp and International Olympiad.[4]
JEE MAIN examination is on of the best prestigious and competitive examination in India. Approx 10 to 12 lakhs of candidates registered every year.
