Clifton College (Botswana)
Clifton College is a private co-educational high school in Francistown, Botswana; located away from the city center. Clifton College began in January 2011 with a class of 15 pupils operating at the preparatory school, responding to increasing demand from the parent body of the Preparatory School and the community. Their new campus officially opened in January of 2015 and further developments still continue.

The college is a part of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) which includes Southern African schools including, Hilton College (South Africa) & Michaelhouse (South Africa) and St. George's College, Harare & Falcon College (Zimbabwe). It is also a sustained member of the Conference of Heads of Private Schools of Botswana (CHOPS); with the school's principal, Charles B. Solomon, serving as the current Head of the conference.
Clifton regularly produces national representatives in sports, including fields such as indoor field hockey and swimming, as well as academics who are rank among the top in the world for Cambridge International Examinations.
The college is registered with the Botswana Ministry of Education and is an approved examinations centre through the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
Curriculum
The college follows the Cambridge International Examinations syllabus, allowing students to sit for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) after four years of secondary education, and the A-Level examination after a further two years. Although still a relatively small school, Clifton College offers a rigorous afternoon activities program that includes sports such as soccer, netball, basketball, hockey, badminton, and swimming; as well as after school clubs such as debate, interact club, chess, and environmental club.
Student body
Clifton College's leadership group is headed by a Headboy and Headgirl and their deputies, and they are assisted by a group of 12 prefects. A student representative council also works in tandem with the prefect group.
Admittance to the college is based on strength of prior education and character of the applicant. Scholarships are awarded to AS and A-level students who show strong skills on the sporting field and the academic field. With an increasing number of approx. 150 students; Clifton, being an interdenominational school, is home to all kinds of students of all kinds of backgrounds. From Christian to Hindu to Muslim, Motswana to Nigerian to Chinese.
House system
Clifton students are separated into 2 houses, Kwena (crocodile) and Kubu (hippo), and siblings at the College are placed in the same house. At house competitions, held at the end of each term, Kwena wears green house shirts, while Kubu don royal blue colours.
