In April 2017, Apple TV temporarily blocked China Uncensored in China, citing local laws, and also blocked the show in Hong Kong and Taiwan.[3][2]
Chris Chappell
Chappell, originally from Los Angeles, told The Daily Dot that he became interested in China at age 19 when he became ill and a friend introduced him to qigong, which he credited with curing him. He said he then studied the history of China and Chinese martial arts and trained with a Kung-fu master. He said he created China Uncensored while reporting on China because he was "tired of the unbiased attitude you had to have as an unbiased news reporter".[4]
Since October 2017, Chappell hosts the YouTube program America Uncovered.[5] In April 2018, he debuted as co-host of China Unscripted,[6] a podcast with Matt Gnaizda and Shelley Zhang.
