China General Chamber of Commerce-U.S.A.

China General Chamber of Commerce - USA (CGCC; Chinese: 美国中国总商会) is a non-profit chamber of commerce representing Chinese businesses in the United States.[1] Its membership consists of more than 1,500 Chinese and U.S. companies, 54 of which ranked on the 2019 Fortune Global 500.[1][2]

As of 2019, CGCC's Chinese member companies have cumulatively invested more than $123 billion dollars in the U.S. and employed more than 220,000 people.[1] CGCC is a national organization and includes six regional chapters, CGCC-New York (CGCCUSA-HQ), CGCC-Chicago, CGCC-Houston, CGCC-Los Angeles, CGCC-San Francisco and CGCC-Washington D.C..[3]

Programs

CGCC hosts and co-hosts programs and event series that aim to provide a broad platform for U.S. and Chinese leaders, state governors, corporate executives, policy makers and other stakeholders to exchange viewpoints on substantial issues in U.S.-China economic relations, build mutual understanding and trust and explore cooperation opportunities. Annual programs put on by the chamber include: the Annual Business Survey Report Launch, SelectUSA Reception, Annual Gala, CGCC Legal and Policy event series, and CGCC Lunch and Learn event series.

Past programs also include the U.S. - China Governors Collaboration Summit, co-hosted with the National Governors Association (NGA), International Finance and Cooperation Forum, co-hosted with Bloomberg L.P., and the HSBC China Forum, co-hosted with HSBC.

In addition to seminars, forums and networking events for member companies,[4] CGCC also offers research on Chinese investment in America including its Annual Business Survey Report on Chinese Enterprises in the U.S.,[5][6] and maintains various databases including the CGCC 50 States Economic Development Guide[7] & China-U.S. Investment and Cooperation Database.

CGCC Foundation

The CGCC Foundation is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with CGCC that was established in 2014.[1] It aims to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation between the United States and China through research, public charity and engagement in economic, cultural and social exchanges.[1]
