Chiang Yung-Ning

Chiang Yung-Ning (1927 – 16 May 1968, also known as Jiang Yongning), was a Hong Kong international table tennis player who represented China.[1]

Table tennis career

He won three bronze medals at the 1956 World Table Tennis Championships, 1957 World Table Tennis Championships and 1959 World Table Tennis Championships in the Swaythling Cup (men's team event) for China.[2]

He was the first National table tennis champion of China in 1952 and in 1953 defeated the defending World Champion Johnny Leach.[3]

Death

Chiang was the victim of harassment during the Cultural Revolution in China and committed suicide on May 16, 1968. [4]
