Charles Clunas

Charles Clunas (1895 – 8 February 1916) was a Scottish professional footballer who played in the Scottish League for Clyde as a forward.[1][4]

Personal life

In November 1914, three months since the outbreak of the First World War, Clunas enlisted as a private in the 23rd (Service) Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers.[4] He was serving as an appointed lance corporal when he was killed by a rifle grenade in Pas-de-Calais, France on 8 February 1916.[3][4][5] He was buried in Guards' Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy.[3]
