Cataclysm
Cataclysm is derived from the Greek κατά kata, "down, against" and κλύζω klyzō, "wash over, surge." It may refer to:
- Deluge (mythology)
- a hypothetical Doomsday event
- any catastrophic geological phenomenon
- volcanic eruption
- earthquake, the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves
- more generally, any large-scale disaster
