History

Cartika was founded in 1999 by Andrew Rouchotas. Cartika launched its initial services utilizing reseller services from other providers, however soon outgrew what traditional providers could offer. In 2000, Cartika incorporated and launched its new services from its data center provider in Dallas, eventually launching and moving north of the border to Toronto.

Cartika currently operates two Network Operation Centres, in Toronto and Dallas.

Cartika utilizes the OnApp platform for its Virtualization and Cloud services.

Backup and Disaster Recovery software is provided by its ClusterLogics platform, originally based on the Bacula system, later moved to the open-source software Bareos.[1]

Cartika also utilizes software provided by H-Sphere and CPanel for its standard web hosting offerings.

Awards

Cartika was a finalist in the Computerworld 2010 Virtualization and Best Practices award.[2]
